PromoTrace ships methodology revisions like software — versioned, with release notes. Your historical calculations stay locked to the revision they were calculated under; new calculations adopt the current one. Recompute selectively when an auditor asks. How accurate is the calculator? What sources back the emission factors?
The catalog uses Idemat 2024 (TU Delft, peer-reviewed) as the primary source for materials, plus worldstainless 2025, GLEC v3 for transport, and IEA 2024 for the 37 country electricity grid factors. Every calculation shows the methodology revision it was run against (e.g. v1.2.0) and the confidence band derived from input certainty — auditors get a defensible methodology trail, not a black box. Does it cover the decoration methods we actually use — screen-print, embroidery, sublimation, pad-print?
Yes. Decoration is its own lifecycle stage with per-method emission factors: screen-print, digital print, pad-print, embroidery, sublimation, laser, transfer, debossing, foil. Pick the method and the coverage area; the calculator multiplies through. Zero-impact decoration (e.g. no decoration) still renders in the lifecycle chart at 35% opacity — auditors see it was considered.
Can I override an emission factor when my supplier sends LCA data?
Yes. Every stage is editable per calculation — override the material factor, the transport distance, the decoration coverage, or the end-of-life route. The override is saved with the calculation, audited, and shown in the PDF footer alongside the methodology rev so downstream readers see exactly what was customised vs. catalog default.
What does the white-label PDF actually contain?
Your logo, your company name, your website — no PromoTrace branding in the body. The PDF cover shows the product, the per-unit and batch CO₂e, the confidence band, the lifecycle bar chart, the methodology revision, the issue date, and the calculator. How does bulk upload work? What does an Excel sheet look like?
Max tier only. Upload an Excel/CSV with one row per product — product name, category, SKU, primary material, weight, origin, destination, decoration, quantity, optional client name. PromoTrace runs every row through the calculator, stores the results in your records, and produces a single consolidated CSV/PDF export. Typical use: a distributor running 200 SKU calculations for a tender in about 4 minutes instead of a week of manual entry.
What does the Sustainability Hub track beyond product CO₂e?
Energy (grid + fuel + refrigerants), water, waste streams (recycled / landfill / energy recovery / hazardous), supplier engagement KPIs (% CoC signed, % assessed, EcoVadis score average, Scope 3 upstream), policy register, sustainability actions log, quantitative targets with live progress, climate risk assessment, training records, external verification status, and evidence URLs per data point. Both tiers include unlimited saved calculations, the full calculator, white-label PDFs, methodology, and the complete Sustainability Hub. Max adds: bulk Excel/CSV upload, public API access (1,000 calls/key/day), unlimited team members instead of Pro's 15, and multi-site Sustainability Hub with consolidated rollups. How long does onboarding take? Will we need a methodology specialist?
A 30-minute demo on your own catalog is the standard onboarding — we walk through three of your real products live, activate the account, and you're running calculations the same day. No prior LCA knowledge required: the calculator is built for promo distributors, not sustainability consultants. Bulk import for existing catalogs takes the customer-success team 1-3 hours depending on size. The methodology is documented at /methodology so your auditors can verify it independently.
